The U.S. Forest Service is waiving its fees at national parks and forests this Veterans’ Day Weekend.
Jocelyn Biro is a program manager with Forest Service. She says the fee waivers are meant to pay tribute to the men and women who have worn the uniform.
“Well, for the last several years we’ve designated November 11th as a ‘fee free’ day. And the day turned into an entire weekend since it’s the Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” Biro said.
Biro says the fee holiday extends to everybody, not just veterans. Although she says campground and recreation rental fees are not waived.
