SPOKANE, Wash. — Fish and Wildlife agents say tips from the public led them to two brothers suspected of poaching a moose in a popular hiking area near Spokane.
Officers say they found moose hair and blood in one brother’s SUV and a bow at the other brother’s house that they believe was used to shoot an arrow into the moose. Officers also seized moose meat.
KREM reports investigators are waiting for DNA tests they expect will match the meat to the evidence.
The head and other remains were left after the moose was butchered in early April on Beacon Hill, near Minnehaha Park.
